The Beauty Triangle.
Started writing this at 03:21 am because I cannot sleep. This was to be expected considering I have had 2 x coffees and 2 x Matcha’s today…so my theory of no caffeine after midday especially coffee is one to stick to for my physiology if I want to get a decent bit of shut eye.
I had my normal morning Oat Matcha Latte that I make myself with a pinch of turmeric, cinnamon and black pepper as well as a dollop of coconut oil. Do I know if it is doing me any good…not really! I still had, and I love it. Anyway got to Waterloo to meet my friend Katy to attend the Beauty Triangle Wellness Festival 2026 in London. I saw she had a little coffee and I then wanted one too. So I got myself an oat flat white for the walk to the event. It was delicious. I had full intention to have no more, however AT the event they had Ancient Wisdom stand. Which is all about functional mushrooms in Matcha, Cacoa, Electrolytes with collagen etc. So, when there was a sample I decided on a Matcha. This turned out to be full sized, and I took it and drank it all! It was pretty good. It had…… in it. I think I prefer my own Matcha though as I can play around with mine but good to know that some of the things I am adding are potentially beneficial! Then we also got a complimentary Nootropics Coffee as well which ALSO haws functional shrooms in. We chose the Masha Coffee their latest formula, combining Lions Mane and ….. for focus and mental clarity. I can fully say they work well as my mental clarity tonight has been top notch. My creative idea have been in full flow, with several ideas popping up when I did my nighttime meditation. All jotted down and ready to explore, don’t worry.
Anyway, that is a lot. of caffeine for me. I believe the caffeine from Matcha and Coffee is a bit different as well. One of the speakers…. was talking about the testing she does for her patients, and how each body is so different and one test was about how your body metabolises caffeine. How testing your hormones over a few months and doing proper blood tests can help you to be more intentional with supplementation. Now that IS something that I would be really interested in TBH. As currently I am not really sure what is beneficial to me or not, am I wasting money on things I don’t need? Or not enough of something else…so I think I need to explore that a little bit more.
I’m 43 years old right now, so hormones, perimenopause and longevity is all at the forefront of my mind. The wonderful speakers at the talk about women’s health related to stress and nervous system regulation and meditation and breathwork not just beauty treatments, topical creams and fancy laser devices. It felt very much like a holistic approach is what really works. Dr…talked about her patients traumas and unpicking those with her clients. Whereas years ago it would have been more about the physical ‘fix’ only but internal emotions or traumas will manifest and damage your mitochondria, she talked about ATP (energy) and microbiomes. Now, THIS really does resonate with me.
There was a talk about meditation and breath work and the powers of this. Being less reactive, less defensive, better decision making, itentional and better rested and able to sleep better. I also agree with this as I have been doing this myself as well.
She did mention a new device that does to your brain in a session what a months worth of consistent meditation does. Wow! I would love to have a go with that. So for those who cannot bear the thought of having a daily meditation or breath work practise this could be for you.
Finally the last talk was about productivity, focus etc. The themes here were also based a lot around emotional wellbeing and nervous system regulation as well, lowering cortisol. Atelier in Egham has a machine that is non evasive but also a LED that calms the body too. The other speakers were also saying very similar themes that chronic stress is aging. Killing off mitchondria. Meaning you get aches and pains, fatigue, brain fog, inability to exercise. I definitely have been in those cycles and states as well. I’m not saying I am completely out of them, I think I am building up good habits slowly and surely and recognising those signs and pulls quickly enough to flip it now. But I do remember vividly how much. a pull it was when I was in that low energy, chronic stress state of living. The inner critic in me would shame and guilt me every time I couldn’t do anything, and I would be living off this pressure cooker dopamine rollercoaster, then burn out, no energy to tidy or cook for the kids, be snappy, binge eat, blood sugars would spike, then be sleepy, not exercise, struggle to get out of bed, forget things even more so and it would all start again. Boy, am I glad to be on the other side of the coin now (most of the time anyway).
There was a breath work session, it would have been cool if they got everyone to try it as well as the Somatic movement therapy. A wide range of different types of facials, lifting and sculpting, glass skin and lymphatic treatments, red light therapy. I had a little go on the red light mask by Bon Charge where they believe Light is the missing nutrient, I would love to have one of those red light blanket/domes at home, not sure where I would put it just yet though! They are meant to heal your body internally.
I got a skin analysis scan which took not even 30 seconds. The photos don’t make me recoil as much as I would have done a year ago. I found it very insightful and it’s going to be helpful to see what I need to work on but I am going to continue on my holistic approach before I decide on paying the big bucks on treatments and tweakments. however I would highly recommend that. you can go on their website AlmaIQ and find clinics that provide the service as they can then see what laser treatments are beneficial for you. I have a lot of inflammation in my skin but my pigmentation and fine lines are ok. I could do with help for oily T-one and skin texture.

@dr.mayoni talks about HRT and mitochondrial support and simple lifestyle solutions. What I took from her is that it’s important to test intentionally before taking HRT.
@geradkite a renowned Five-Element Acupuncture Master, opened the first NHS Acupuncture clinic.
@drauroraalmadori talked about women;s health in intimate reconstruction and stem cell based treatment. She found a big correlation between trauma, stress and those effects on the body too.
Overall it was a great day of wellness and my KEY takeaway really is that beauty and wellness are tied hand in hand holistically, and that the brain and the nervous system if calm will aid in cell regeneration and if in fight or flight mode ( stressed or limiting beliefs not identified and released your body is not relaxed and therefore cannot be in tip top condition.
What do you do to ensure you body is in optimal condition for longevity and that youthful vitality that we all desire. I know for sure I want that glow to be coming from within.
