Becca Joyce

Several years ago I worked with Becca for menswear brand Blake Mills. One of the male models Donald who I worked with a few times before recommended me as they were organising a photoshoot in a location house just out of London.

Since then we have worked on a few location houses, one was in Somerset, which was absolutely beautiful and super fun. I have also gone up to Liverpool as well to shoot on the beach and in and around the city. So cold but we can’t complain when the model isn’t. That was with male model Steve Chan, who was an absolute legend on the windy beach in November in just a shirt. I’m telling you now being a model requires real inner strength. Mind over body!

Men’s grooming has been something I have always done since the start of my career as HMUA (hair and makeup artist). It is slightly different to female hmu, but I really enjoy it. It is vital that they do not look like they have makeup on. You may have to cover blemishes and dark circles still but it needs to be well blended. I love to give a bit of a glow as well, but not too orange. Which was one of Becca’s fears!

Becca has started out on her own photography journey and has an impeccably creative eye. I love working with her we have such a laugh together and she is super fast with her snapping. She tries new things if something is not working and is very collaborative with the entire team. She is Art Director, Photographer and shoot producer all in one. Or separately if that’s what you need.

We created a gorgeous little trio with stylist Amie Millbourne who created some awesome looks with these male models and more recently some bridal shoots too which I will share on another post. Becca’s work is one to watch as she is literally on FIRE right now!
