Blush and Wild
I met Photographer Sharan in 2024, where she had not long started her photography business Blush and Wild. She creates portraits of real women from all walks of life (as in not models) in amazing outfits like flying dresses and embodies female empowerment by trying to cultivate self love in each and every woman. She has a beautiful fine art style to her photographs.
From the very first shoot I did with Sharan I loved being a part of the process and I got huge gratification discovering each and every woman’s story, connecting with them and transforming them ready for their photoshoot (you do not have to book hair and makeup- that is an optional add-on). When the clients take a sneak peak at the back of the camera of what Sharan has captured, the joy and surprise of ‘Is that ME!?’ is priceless.
As a makeup artist it is key to be able to make someone feel super comfortable in the hair and makeup hot seat, as you are trusted to get up close and personal with someone very quickly. I have realised that this is a skill that comes very naturally to me. I’m not really sure why or how as I was so quiet as a child. On reflection, I am an empath and not only resonate with a human experience and story, I feel people’s energy, joys and pains and highs and lows. I believe these connections have also helped me on my journey too. I have learnt that through adversity comes immense growth and most of the time it’s a journey to feelings of peace and contentment. We all want that, don’t we?
Sometimes the right person turns up with a podcast to recommend or a book that helped them, or they have some kind of wisdom that I will literally soak up like a sponge.
Thank you to Sharan for trusting me with her precious clients and thank you to all the women who have trusted me to do their hair and makeup for their personal shoots.
Sharan also offers beautiful fine art style boudoir shoots as well. I love how this is such a beautiful safe space for females. She also runs intimate women’s circles. Which I have also been to, they are incredible moving and there is something so powerful about congregating with fellow women (a sisterhood- which these days can be quite rare) and sharing a space to just be. Congrats to Sharan for celebrating women and doing something so incredibly meaningful. This experience is a gift to yourself...
